Genealogy at Mid-County Library

   
 
Please stop by the library and meet our Charlotte County Genealogical Society, Inc.
 volunteers who are there to help you research your family history.
Our volunteers are available Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm.
 
Genealogy Room Volunteers are temporarily not available in person at the Mid-County Regional Library. You can leave a request for assistance at 941-613-3162 and a volunteer will contact you by phone. We look forward to helping you.

 We are a Family History Center where you can view 25% more documents from
 FamilySearch.org at our location.
 
We have 7,000 Genealogy reference items just waiting for you.

    • (For in-library use only)
  • Generations Online
    • Generations Online is dedicated to enhancing communication among generations by promoting Internet access and literacy to elders.
  • Heritage Quest
    • provides libraries with a collection of research materials tracing family history. The Genealogy & Local History Collection contains over 25,000 digitized family and local history books, every word searchable. The page images and corresponding indexes for the entire Federal Census, 1790-1930 are included.
  • Interlibrary Loan
    • If you cannot find an item you are looking for in our catalog we can request it from another library system by filling out the interlibrary loan form.
 
We also have a shelf of books that can be checked out and read at home.
